Some more beautiful art by you, Dave. Very nice! We are beginning the loft build this weekend. The octagon window install will follow. I will share pictures as soon as they happen, which I hope will be within a few weeks.
Congrats on your published music. And I'm so glad you've finally gotten some relief from a good doctor. That has been a long time coming.
You both must come see the window when it's in. Much love!
What a delightful comment! And I’m glad you’re getting to the loft. As they say, that window ain’t gonna to hang itself - ba domp bomp!
We are really looking forward to seeing the project completed, the window I’m sure will make the lovely little home breathtakingly beautiful.
As to the good doc/bad doc outcome, yes, I’m walking around more as I get accustomed to being in a brace. It takes some getting used to, but I’m far more mobile and can stand all day as I used to before all the… well, the mess.
My only regret is affixing the brace takes some time to lace up and is too rigid to wear and drive Kathie’s little Civic, that and my truck needs a new transmission - ARGH - so I can’t drive it either. This leave me kind of immobile unless I take it off, which is another tedious affair.
It is so nice of you to interact, it gladdens Kathie and I to realize art is again being integrated into architecture - no more bland boxes! That and your patronage of independent artists sends ripples of hope across the art community.
Thank you, Mighty Z, that is quite a compliment! You noticed some of the fun, such as 'slower than the pace car at a Shriners parade"? As a kid growing up in Canton Ohio, we all rode our bikes down to watch it go by, and every year the Shriners, wearing their fez, would be driving miniature cars entertain everyone, but man they crawled! All along the parade route. I just remember it being a lot of fun.
Thank you, Paul, it really is something to behold, I only wish we had better pictures. When it is installed, there will be an update and lots of good, professional photo’s as Brenda is very goood at photography.
The inspiration was from Brenda who commissioned the work. She had an idea, but didn’t know how to express it, so she and Kathie got together and sketched out a pattern, then Brenda ‘enhanced’ it with either Photoshop or some tweaking using an LLM of some sort.
I will pass on your comment to Kathie, she would love to hear this. We very much appreciate your kind words. I’m just guessing, but it must be afternoon where you are, am I right?
Nice, will look forward to seeing the window in it’s home. It was afternoon, now early evening. Storm rolled by, strong winds and rain, but now all quiet.🙏🏻
Yes, I am patient, unless I'm dealing with an incompetent, arrogant, or prevaricating individual, then I'm a bit curt.
Faced with a poorly designed product or policy, then I lose my freakin' mind and let loose an explosive tirade of vituperation hot enough to melt tungsten!
But otherwise, I'm a very patient man. One has to be patient in order to bend the material world into submission.
But K.C., your beautiful comment keeps the creative ship afloat, and you just breathed a gust of fresh moral support into my sails of creativity. Thank you so very much, it really, really helps. Since you are a gifted artist, you know just how much a positive word can shape your aspirations in art. We're a sensitive bunch.
Just rub a little tiger balm on it. Hehe. I think we men's toughness is an asset in the short term, but when something keeps on bothering us for months, we need to get it checked out. I'm glad you did, thanks to your bride's advice. Brides are great for that. I really enjoyed your music and I'm glad it's getting some traction. Well earned. And those are some gorgeous glass pieces. Excellent post all the way around, Dave.
Thank you, Parker, I’m glad you understand our ‘privilege’ as much as I do. Kathie sure has made the grade and spends as much time as she can in her studio - she’s there as I type this! It gives me hope that others find something in my music as that is what I enjoy doing more than anything. I much appreciate the feedback, I may be a slow writer, but at least I’m persistent!

Love the joinery and the finish. Masterfully done!

That window is just astounding, I wouldn't be able to look away from it. What was Kathie's inspiration for the tree?
Happy to hear you took care of yourself, even if a little late... 🤨🫠

All of the pieces featured were exquisite, Dave. You must have a lot of patience to finish wood the way you do. A true artisan.
