Terri is a highly accomplished mosaic artist with that burning passion to create. She approached me with the idea of converting several old oak planks and one walnut board into frames. They had been stored in her father’s barn for many, many years, despite that they were in pretty good condition. She even brought her own glass. What is wonderful is that she gave me artistic license on the 8 quarter-round glass panes.

The frame is walnut, but this block is solid teak!

Each one has its own particular finish. Due to the large amount of live edge, I went with a polyurethane spray.

A simple oak frame with no finish as the other conventional “square” frames finish will be determined by Terri.

On one side of the walnut frame I left the rough sawn surface.

On the other side, I exposed the smooth side.

This one has both the rough surface with live edge features!
