I was recommended by someone who knew that I liked challenges and was introduced to Mary Wells. Mary, who had recently had to cut down a tree that had become diseased, had an inspiration; leave a large 10’ tall segment of the trunk standing hoping someone could turn it into a Fairy Tree for her then 7-year-old granddaughter. Uh huh… right, I had never heard of such a thing, but Mary was able to convey her wishes to me in a clear and concise way, so I set to the task of fulfilling her wishes.

As I began to work on it, the vision became clear. I was given full artistic license to do whatever was needed to indulge a fantasy wild of a little girl. I put myself in that frame of mind for the entire project.
