But First . . .
Like a warm blanket on a chilly night, friends of all sorts, especially in the art community, have embraced me for just being
“me”. With their kind words, gifts and most of all their sincere help without fancying remuneration of any kind, the immensity of their actions has greater influence than they may know. Friends such as these, who spontaneously become Santa Claus and indulge me with gifts and profoundly good deeds, make the world such a better place that it inspires me to rise to their exemplary character.
Of course I do not live in a vacuum, my enchantingly pleasant wife Kathie is often the person behind the curtain fashioning ties to these many friends. As we all know, Kathie is the gracious and cordial of us two, she is really the impetus of many of these wonderful overtures by our friends. Either way, it humbles us when these friends think of us, you know they must be earning bonus credits towards their Sainthood status. 🥇
I say all that to say this; although Kory Dollar is always our champion to whom we owe much, and I can’t list all of our admirable friends in this post, there are two of them who deserve a hearty Thank You for what they did. So, it is with great ardency that we give our sincerest acknowledgement of gratitude to Carlyne Lynch and Terri Misley. Last year, these two sterling friends coordinated to bring us a HUGE load of beautiful sky-blue tinted and textured glass to use in building a studio.
🚧 This is the result so far, albeit still under construction.🚧
We call it our “Den” because when that fickle and elusive Oregon sun decides to smile, the room suddenly becomes cozy and warm. Before this was built, in the summer months Kathie would sit at this spot working on her mosaics but have to duck in during the wind and cold. But now, she can create her art in contentment and peace - that is, whenever I am not making loud machine noises, chucking sawdust and generally creating a nuisance.

We are always open to others who wish to join in on the act of creating art. We can set up a table indoors or out and display their art with this cool little hanging ridge added to the end of the den were one can hang their mosaic. This is the optimal place for sun exposure all day long. It can also double as a swing mounting point. Of course I still have to build the swing.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Nearly every stick in this tiny abode is hand made, milled from rough-sawn cedar that Kory and I picked up at a place north of Rainier. The trip was, as the kids say, “epic”. That story will be next.

You are so welcome Dave. I can’t wait until it is ready for me to join Kathy in creating art. It is outstanding and I love the amount of light
