Note: Hey everybody, I apologize my not posting for a spell, life threw me a curveball that had me take evasive action to keep from getting whacked! All is well, I managed to pick myself up and dust off. Huge loving thanks to my wife Kathie, to Kory and others who stepped up to help. More posts are coming up very soon.
Anyway - -
Here is one of Kory’s Marvelous Mosaic fused glass panels. Its perfect for this slab of walnut stand. Not only is it ‘live edge,’ this one has branches - YIKES! So I’m gonna call it ‘wild edge’ cuz I don’t know what else to call it. How about ‘Wildwood?’ You tell me :)
I happened to catch the evening sun to show off this really cool hunk of fused glass. The piece looked rather ordinary lying on the table, but when the sun hit it - magic! The stand actually enhances to trunk.
If, after being only viewed from the front, if one is not expecting it, the back side is really quite surprising. Kory and I do some really fun and creative stuff, she’s the greatest!
The effects of light passing through the piece and dancing on the table are much nicer with a solid white surface, but even with the glass top you can see the colors splashed across it.
If I find more wood such as this, I’ll create more. Does anyone have such stuff lying about? Some odd shaped wood can be turned into art, you may even have a potential piece of art in your woodpile! I try to always look at things for their eccentricities and even goofiness, it could turn out to be something really cool!
Thanks for reading,
Dave
