A Work In Progress
[NOTE]: This page is going to take a while to complete, my photo files are scattered among three laptops and a phone. I will, as time allows, keep adding to this page as I create more projects and find more pictures. Thank you for your interest in my work.
A Ladder For Bruce Holtz
Bruce built a really cool little, tiny, storybook playhouse for his daughter back in the day (pictures coming soon). After she grew up and left home, it sort of languished and nothing much was done with it. With the loft meant for a kid, most adults aren’t likely to go bounding up there. It turns out, however, that his wife is very dimminutive in height and has taken interest in utilizing this isolated spot as a place to read and relax. The problem was getting up to the loft. An ordinary ladder wouldn’t do, it needed to be made for a grown-up, be well made and have a certain appeal. Bruce asked and I accepted the challenge.
Made of white ash with mahogany trim, it is befitting this quaint, tiny elfin house. The thickness of the white ash is only ¾” standard size, insufficient if I were to cut channeling in it for the risers, so I glued and screwed an extra layer between the riserson the inside and covered the seam with the mahogany.
Butcher Block Countertops
I never get tired of working with butcher block. This is just one of for countertops I made for the Malarkey’s home up above Deer Island, Oregon. The other three and I have pictures - somewhere…

What to do with the leftover pieces? How about a sweet coffee table!
