Hello my dear friends,
Music is constantly in my head - always, and I must have an outlet. Everything below is created using only an old laptop and the free software download known as Nano Studio. It’s really cool. If you are really patient and can figure out the brutal learning curve, you’re writing music! Here are a few of my songs. If you are able to sit through one, please send feedback - or - save it to torment your overstaying houseguests. Either way, please enjoy.
Stargazing
Imagine lying in the yard and watching the night sky for meteors and the occasional mysterious flying object. What could it be? I’m channeling Nelson Riddle here as I miss the desert sky. I did sample one sound - crickets.

Less Is More - More Or Less - 04/28/2023
Another Nano Studio Symphony series where the processor is screaming to keep up, which it barely does. Less as far as chord, rhythm and pitch changes and more as to detail - listen to the many layers of sequencing and phase shifted string and vocal tracks. Apologies in advance for any distortion heard in the song, alas, there are just so many things being executed that the tune routinely crashes the program.

Timescape II (Remix) - 04/05/2023
Revised: Fixed distortion, gaps, added instruments, context and an extended ending. This cheerful tune and one I strove for perfection, as best I can with the setup I have. Horrid distortion - sorry, the result of a processor getting crushed. To those first-time visitors, I'm using the free app Nano Studio and a few stolen WAV samples from the web. Its an arduous job.

Tao Bossa Western Happiness
Created on March 21, 2023 revised 03/22 on a 2013 Dell laptop using Nano Studio, this odd combination doesn't fit any category, a bit of Bossa-Nova beat, some western bass and an Asian vibe all combine into some wild music that sounds good to probably only me as I find my outlet for creativity doing this. Comments always welcome.
Sunshine
Insomnia and longing for the sunlight impelled me to write “Sunshine” every night and into the early hours nearly the entire month of February. This one took an outrageous amount of work, but details can make or break a song.
City Nights
Probably the closest I’ve come to a more mainstream song.
A Perfect Day
Another in a series of music created ENTIRELY ON A LAPTOP using Nano Studio, a free, open-source app. This one is a lot jazzier and yet still goes way into the usual space-case trip to places unknown. Synth sections inspired by the late great George Duke and his wild riffs. I create these as my only musical outlet available to me at this time. I know it isn't "studio quality" music, but it is meant to serve as a platform for ideas that, hopefully, will be put down using actual musical instruments when the budget allows.
I do hope you enjoy and please, comment below.

An Act Of Kindness
A lovely tune, if you can pardon the messed up measures and a few other warts. As you listen, think of a “just because” gift, fixing the bike of a child, or a warm embrace. I implore you to listen to it through a stereo or headphones, I do not recommend a phone speaker.
I Love Psychedelics
A somewhat dark and moody piece that might just seem a little strange to those unfamiliar with the magic of certain select fungi and cacti. If you know, you know.
Serene
Lo-fi learning curve melody and a bit twangy on the ‘guitar’ sound, but this is the type that music that typically rolls through my head on any given day. When the muse hits, I must put these down using that tiny app, even if its kinda lame sounding.
Motive Power
An energetic tune based on the dynamic energy of locomotion and the rhythmic sound made going down the tracks. I might have been influenced by Ayn Rand as well.
Starship Countdown
Meant to sit you back and chill. The beginning of a trip through space. If you’re still wondering at this point whether I’m a space-case or not, then I have a meme to show you.
These tunes are made mostly from the fairly crude instruments provided by the virtual synth, but as I learn more about the app, the better things seem to get, at least from my perspective. I’m beginning to love this incredibly difficult but fascinating app, so if you would like to hear more, smash that subscribe button - it is free, easy and absolutely private.
